Built in 1895, Marting Hall is one of the most historic and architecturally pleasing buildings on the campus of Baldwin-Wallace University. Nestled on Seminar Street, this all sandstone building façade stands as a beacon of craftsmanship and historical significance.

American International proudly restored the entire building façade and cupola over a four-year phased endeavor and provided the following services:

Façade Cleaning & Waterproofing

Multiple phases of chemical cleaning of heavy carbon build up on the sandstone followed by the application of a natural stone treatment clear water repellent.

Concrete Spall Repair & Stone Restoration

Stone resetting, patching and replacement. Tuckpointing of masonry mortar joints.

Cupola Restoration & Copper Spire Replacement

Complete removal of handmade galvanized metal cladding components and replacement with synthetic molding materials. Fabrication of all materials were performed to exacting standards to replicate each ornate piece with CNC machine precision.

Fabrication and installation of (4) copper column caps to replicate the 1895 Cupola.

Window Sealant Repairs

Complete recaulking and resurfacing of window frames

Large Chimney Removal

Removal of an 80’ stone chimney which was no longer used and was in danger of falling.
